The adders have emerged!

In Uncategorized on February 4, 2011 at 12:17 am

Today I was out scoping out reptile sites for a training workshop on Boxhill in Dorking, Surrey. The weather was sunny and felt just right for spotting adders. I really wanted to get out on the warm chalky grassland areas on the north downs around Denbies and Ranmore Common. I did not manage to get out there. which is a shame as I have found that adders have been seen in Northern England!

Chris Gleed Owen has also been looking for these adders in Nottingham – to no avail!

So the challenge is to get out tomorrow at a local forest to find these wonderful animals lets hope the weather will still be good

A ha! better weather is forecasted over the next 24hrs

09.00 white cloud 10C

12.00 Sunny Intervals 10C

15.00 Sunny Intervals 10C

18.00 Partly Cloudy 10C

I am heading to Burgess Hill tomorrow morning and hope to get out to a suitable adder site either in Surrey or back here in Hampshire.

The challenge is to photograph a male adder newly emerged on the 4th February 2010 – I am also talking about the adder in Alton this evening……
